Learning a Language is not just about grammar and vocabulary, it's also about culture and understanding someone else, so that it becomes something you have a passion for.
Also, never think it's too late to learn a foreign language! It may be easier to be thrown into the deep end when one is young to learn it naturally but learning a language when one is older can actually be more fun because of the variety of subjects you can talk about.
Thanks to my teaching experience built with different age groups, I can say that it is possible to learn and rapidly put to practice one's new language skills, be it for work, for pleasure or for travelling, whatever one's age.
